For all oxygen therapy users looking for a powerful portable concentrator with the longest battery life. The G5 has six flow settings and a battery that lasts up to 13 hours, by far the longest battery life available in a portable condenser today.
The Inogen One G5 portable oxygen concentrator is indicated for patients with the following conditions:
Disorders and acute diseases
- Severe pneumonia which is the infection of one or both lungs. If it is severe, it causes deep inflammation of the alveoli so that they cannot exchange enough oxygen with the blood.
- Severe asthma attacks which is a disease of the lungs that causes inflammation and constricts the bronchial tubes. The majority of asthma patients, including many children, are able to manage their symptoms safely. However, if the asthma attacks are severe, the patient may need to be admitted to the hospital for oxygen therapy.
- Respiratory distress syndrome or bronchopulmonary dysplasia in premature infants. Premature babies may have one or both of these serious lung diseases. As part of the treatment, you may receive oxygen through a breathing device or oxygen therapy mask, nasal continuous positive pressure, or through a nasal catheter.
Disorders and chronic diseases
- COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease). COPD is a progressive disease in which injury to the alveoli prevents the passage of sufficient oxygen to the blood. The adjective “progressive” means that the disease tends to get worse over time.
- Severe heart failure. In this disorder, the heart is unable to pump a sufficient amount of oxygen-rich blood to meet the body’s needs.
- Cystic fibrosis is an inherited disease of the exocrine glands, including those that produce mucus and sweat. In patients suffering from cystic fibrosis, the airways become filled with thick, sticky mucus, which facilitates bacterial growth, causing severe and recurrent lung infections. Over time, infections can seriously damage the lungs.
- Sleep-related breathing disorders that reduce the level of oxygen during sleep, such as sleep apnea.
- Group headache which is extremely painful and relapsing, with active phases alternating with periods of automatic remission. These active phases are called “clusters”.
Key criteria for selecting an Inogen G5
High oxygen supply
A big advantage of the Inogen One G5 is that it has 6 oxygen settings, 1 more than the Inogen One G3 or comparing a fixed oxygen device. Each setting compares to about 1 liter of oxygen per minute, making the G5 very powerful. You can easily set the condenser to the appropriate setting by pressing the + and – buttons on the control panel.
Long battery life
The unprecedented uptime of the Inogen One G5 is its second strong advantage. With the included 16-cell battery, you can use the G5 condenser for up to 13 hours without recharging. So you can go out with confidence without worrying about time. Battery life depends on your oxygen setting. The higher the setting, the shorter the execution time.
Stream | Usage time (hours: minutes) | |
Setting 1.0 | 13:28 | |
Setting 2.0 | 10:22 | |
Setting 3.0 | 7:01 | |
Setting 4.0 | 4:55 | |
Setting 5.0 | 3:48 | |
Setting 6.0 | 2:58 |
Small and lightweight
The Inogen One G5 with 16 cell battery is compact, only 18 cm long, and 23 cm high. It weighs 2.6 kg, including the battery, making it very easy to carry. The G5 fits perfectly in the stylish carrying bag included. The bag has a luxurious design and a padded interior to protect the condenser.
Handy
You can easily operate the Inogen One G5 from the control panel at the top of the condenser. The LCD screen provides all the information you need for your oxygen therapy. Clear icons and large numbers show the oxygen setting and remaining battery life at a glance.
Energy efficiency
This portable oxygen concentrator gives you up to 13 hours of autonomy without recharging. When Inogen is connected to a power supply, you can use it and charge the battery at the same time. You can plug into the AC or DC outlet in your car, caravan or boat using the AC power supply or DC cable.

Oxygen purification is done inside the columns. For the Inogen One G5, Inogen has designed a brand new column housing, significantly improving their expected lifespan.
