How to clean your equipment

To get the best possible treatment for your sleep apnea, it is important to properly clean your equipment regularly, including your mask, air tube, and humidifier tank.

Cleaning the silicone, frame and head strap of the CPAP mask
For All CPAP Masks

  1. Disconnect the CPAP machine from the power source.
  2. Disconnect the mask and air tube from the CPAP machine.
  3. Disassemble your mask into 3 parts (head strap, cushion, and frame).
  • In a sink or basin, clean the silicone mask and head strap to remove any dirt. Scrub gently with soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using stronger cleaning products, including dishwashing detergents, as they may damage the mask or leave harmful residues.
  • Rinse well again with water.
  • Place the silicone and the mask frame on a flat surface, on top of a towel, to dry. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight or other heat sources.

Air pipe cleaning tips

  1. Disconnect the CPAP machine from the power source.
  2. Disconnect the air tube from the mask and the CPAP machine.
  3. In a sink or basin, rinse the inside and outside of the air pipe with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using stronger cleaning products, including dishwashing detergents, as they can damage the air tubing or leave harmful residues.
  • Rinse well again with lukewarm water.
  • Place the air hose on a flat surface, on a towel, to dry. Avoid placing in direct sunlight or other heat sources.

Humidifier container cleaning tips
Daily cleaning tips

  1. Disconnect the CPAP machine from the power source.
  2. Disconnect the humidifier container from the CPAP machine.
  3. In a sink or basin, rinse the humidifier container with mild soap and lukewarm water. Avoid using stronger cleaning products, including dishwashing detergents, as they can damage the humidifier bath or leave harmful residues.
  • Rinse well again with lukewarm water.
  • Place the humidifier container on a flat surface, on a towel, to dry. Avoid placement in direct sunlight and other heat sources.
  • The humidifier container must always be clean and free of discolouration.

Weekly cleaning tips:

  1. Once a week, soak your humidifier container in a solution of white vinegar and lukewarm water for 15-20 minutes.
  • After soaking, rinse well with lukewarm water.
  • Place the humidifier container on a flat surface, on a towel, to dry. Avoid placement in direct sunlight and other heat sources.
